Coffe Journey - entry #1

Today, February 2nd, 2024 I have decided to embark upon my coffee journey through difference cities in Europe.

We are starting with Munich in Germany, obvious choice given this is where I live, and will work my way through as many coffee roasters as possible.

This morning I ordered a coffee from a micro roaster called Man vs. Machine. You can find a link to their website here. They roast exclusively Arabica Coffees with speciality grade of >80pts. They themselves describe their roasting style as balanced and sweet but some would argue it is more nordic and light. What I found particularly interesting is that their coffees are served around the world in Michelin start restaurants and quality oriented places like hotels, offices and events.

I ordered Sure Shot, Brazil, Natural coffee. Here are the specs

  • Origin: Brazil, region Cerrado Mineiro, Minas Gerais.
  • Variety: Red Catuai
  • Processing: Natural
  • Farm: José Maria de Oliveira; you can go and check their own website
  • Cupping Notes: Sweet, Creamy, Cocoa, Nuts
  • Price: EUR 39.50 for 1kg bag including DHL shipping
